So I may have twenty odd books sitting at home that I haven’t read yet and I may be planning to read them all ASAP. That doesn’t mean I can’t bring home some new stories…right? 🙂 It’s just more to love, more worlds to jump into. Here’s what I got!
When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon
How could I not get this book?! It sounds so cute and it’s got great reviews. I haven’t sat down and read a YA contemporary in a while and honestly, I’m so excited to get into this one.
The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness
I’ve heard both good and bad things about this book so I wanted to delve into it myself because the idea of telling a story from the perspective of someone who’s not the Chosen One is so interesting.
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
Obviously I had to have this book because of its relevancy, incredible reviews and its concept. I cannot wait to begin this story.
The Wrath & The Dawn by Renee Ahdieh
Okay, the cover got to me first on this one. I’ve picked this book up a few times over the year and never gotten it until this time, when the cover art was just too good to be ignored. I’ve been on the fence about reading this but now I have it and yeah, I’m excited to say the least.
Wayfarer by Alexandra Bracken
I really enjoyed reading Passenger a year ago and still remember most of its details so even though it’s been a while, I’m ready for the conclusion of this duology.
The Magicians by Lev Grossman
Again, the cover art drew me in but the story also caught my attention. I’ve seen some readers saying the show is better but I didn’t even know there was a show. Most people seem to have an issue with the pretentious main character but I’m still very intrigued.
Show Stopper by Hayley Barker
Going off of the description and Goodreads reviews of this book, I’m surprised I haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere in the blogging community. One review I saw said it was a mashup of Morgenstern’s The Night Circus and Collins’ The Hunger Games and like, YES PLEASE? That sounds so good!
The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood
I’m all for a heavily feminist book so I’ve been meaning to pick this one up for a while. I’m really interested in reading it but I think I’m going to need to be in the mood for this sort of read. Currently I just want a world I can disappear into and I think this one is just going to make me angry.
Those are all the books I picked up this summer, hope you enjoyed this post! What books are currently on your TBR? Any new releases you’re really excited for? Let me know!
